Anthos Home

New York City — Ongoing

Homelessness is one of the most pressing and visible challenges facing New York City, with thousands of individuals and families trapped in shelters or unstable situations despite holding housing vouchers that should open the door to a permanent home. Anthos Home exists to close that gap. It partners with government and social service agencies to help voucher holders secure safe, stable apartments more quickly, acting as a single point of contact for tenants, landlords, and government partners throughout the process, reducing financial risk and administrative burden for housing providers, while its ongoing aftercare and 24/7 support help ensure lasting housing stability and, with it, improved outcomes in education, employment, and family wellbeing. Mohari is proud to support Anthos Home, helping to strengthen its operational capacity, and ultimately bring more people out of homelessness and into homes where they can truly thrive.

New York Restoration Project

New York City — Ongoing

The New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is an environmental justice nonprofit and citywide nature conservancy that has spent three decades transforming neglected urban spaces into thriving community green spaces across all five of New York City's boroughs. NYRP owns and manages 51 community gardens citywide, stewards over 80 acres of parkland in Northern Manhattan, and has built or renovated more than 300 green spaces, prioritising the city's least green and historically most underserved neighbourhoods. These gardens are far more than places to plant: they are vibrant community hubs where New Yorkers grow fresh food, gather with neighbours, and connect with nature. Mohari is proud to support NYRP through a three-year grant, strengthening the organisation's capacity to build, renovate, and care for community green spaces across the city, funding essential infrastructure improvements, new planting, and expanded seasonal staffing to sustain and enhance these shared urban gardens for the communities that depend on them.

Everglades Literacy Program

Florida — Ongoing

The Everglades Literacy Program is a PreK to 12 education initiative that empowers the next generation to protect Florida’s Everglades, one of the world’s most vital ecosystems. Beginning in the classroom and extending into the community through hands on, student led action projects, young people are already driving real change, from reducing plastic pollution to restoring habitats and improving water quality. By training teachers as multipliers and providing standards aligned lesson plans and materials, the program reaches thousands of students each year with the knowledge and tools to help safeguard this threatened ecosystem, which supplies daily water for 9 million Floridians, contributes billions of dollars to Florida’s economy, and offers recreational and educational opportunities for millions of visitors. Mohari is proud to support the program’s expansion in Miami Dade County, building on a proven model that has trained 8,500+ teachers and reached 280,000+ students across Florida. Mohari’s support will help train at least 100 additional teachers each year and engage approximately 3,500 more students annually, strengthening environmental stewardship today and for the future.

Tao Culinary Youth Development Summer Program

New York City — Ongoing

Historically marginalized and under-resourced public high school students face substantial challenges in accessing career opportunities within the culinary and hospitality industry. These students often lack the financial and professional support required to explore, understand, and network within these fields. To address these challenges, TAO Group Hospitality in partnership with Mohari launched the ‘Tao Culinary Youth Development Summer Program’, an 8-week paid summer program specifically for high school culinary students. The program covers culinary fundamentals, with participants gaining exposure to various roles and responsibilities in a professional kitchen, as well as insight into various career pathways, including opportunities in restaurants, catering, hospitality, food media and culinary education. The program launched in NYC, in partnership with the Food Education Fund (FEF), a non-profit playing a pivotal role bridging the gap between public high schools, the culinary and hospitality industries, and students. The first edition of the program invited five FEF students from across NYC to gain experience inside the kitchens of Cathédrale, TAO Downtown, and Sake No Hana. The program plans to expand to other major cities with Tao Group Hospitality venues in 2025 and beyond.
