Mohari Hospitality Strengthens Executive Team with Elizabeth Sandler as Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK (January 5, 2025) – Mohari Hospitality has appointed Elizabeth Sandler as the firm’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) to accelerate the continued expansion of its international luxury hospitality portfolio. Sandler brings extensive operational and strategic leadership experience from previous senior executive roles at global financial services organizations, where she oversaw multi-billion-dollar platforms and complex international operations.

Most recently, Sandler served as COO for Blackstone Real Estate Debt Strategies, overseeing operations for Blackstone’s $30 billion in AUM real estate debt platform, which includes its private equity real estate debt fund, its listed mortgage REIT (BXMT), and its real estate securities business.

Prior to Blackstone, Sandler spent more than 15 years at Deutsche Bank, where she served as COO of Group Risk and as a member of the Bank’s Global Operating Committee, managing risk and strategic growth frameworks across the firm’s international footprint. Earlier in her Deutsche Bank career, she was Global COO for Structured Finance, including Commercial Real Estate.

“Elizabeth’s proven leadership in managing large-scale operations and driving strategic transformation makes her an invaluable addition to our executive team,” said J. Allen Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Mohari. “Her operational expertise will be critical as we continue to expand our global portfolio and deliver exceptional experiences across our luxury hospitality assets.”

“Joining Mohari at this stage of growth presents an incredible opportunity to align operational strategy with investment ambition,” said Sandler. “I’m excited to work alongside an exceptional team to help build a platform that is agile, efficient, and capable of delivering transformative hospitality experiences globally.”

Sandler holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy, Finance, and Information Systems from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Human Development from Duke University. She is based in New York.
